According to the report from the 2nd Army Area Operations Center, the summary of incidents along the Thai–Cambodian border is as follows:
Opposing drones were detected with 37 units in the border area and 13 units inside Thai territory, along with the evacuation of Cambodian civilians in Chom Krasaen District, Preah Vihear Province. Ten moving infrared points were observed from behind Phnom Prasitthiso Hill and were assessed as troop reinforcement.
Thai forces remain deployed within national territory while maintaining readiness and monitoring the situation in line with GBC agreements.
On 15 August 2025 at approximately 00.45 hrs, an incident occurred in Kab Choeng District, Surin Province in which two civilians were injured by gunfire. Around 10 shots were fired near Ban Khuean Kaew Temple Road. Investigation revealed that Private Ratthapoom Thepsiri, assigned to the 1623rd Infantry Company, had left his post without authorisation and was armed with a rifle and ammunition. He was identified as the perpetrator and a search was launched. Later, a man in military uniform with an M16 rifle was found dead about 50 metres from the scene and was confirmed to be Private Ratthapoom Thepsiri, who had committed suicide with his service weapon.
The Army Spokesperson together with General His Serene Highness Prince Chalermsuk Yukol, expert in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear matters, briefed on the Thai soldier landmine incidents and rebutted Cambodian allegations of chemical weapon use. They emphasized that Cambodia continues to deny and distort facts about landmine use, despite five Thai soldiers having been injured, with two of those incidents occurring after the ceasefire took effect.
The Army Deputy Spokesperson confirmed that images claiming concertina wire removal at Ta Muen Thom Temple, Surin Province, are fake. Investigation found no such incident and the flagpole seen in the image does not exist on site. If it had occurred, Thai forces would have responded immediately. It is assessed that the Cambodian side produced the image to divert domestic attention after Thailand regained 11 positions.
On 15 August 2025, the Regional Border Committee (RBC) Thailand-Cambodia secretary-level meeting commenced in Trat Province during 15-16 August 2025.
